At their annual department retreat in January, Human Resources staff busted out the glue sticks and scissors and got hands-on making posters of their accomplishments for the year. The department broke into small groups of 4-5 and spent about an hour cutting up magazines to create the poster collages. The groups then came back together and spent half an hour sharing their posters with the entire department. The activity was a creative new way for staff to share with each other and celebrate their hard work of the past year.

“Our staff really enjoyed it,” says Assistant Superintendent Marnie Allen. “It’s not very often that we get to be creative in HR, and it made the presentations fun and visual for everyone.”

Allen is pleased with how the posters turned out and plans to take inspiration from them for the design of the HR annual report in June.
