Danielle Rivers is the Regional School Nurse for the La Center School District. She is the sole School Nurse in the district, covering elementary, middle, and high school.

How long have you worked for ESD 112 and what does your job entail?

5 years. I receive Health Room visits, create Emergency Care Plans, and do staff education, medication administration and vision/hearing screenings.

What do you like best about your job?

Making kids feel better when they are hurt or sick and getting to know the students.

What do you find most challenging about your job?

Finding the time to get it all done!

Single? Married? Kids? Pets?

Married for 18 years with four teenage boys–Dylan, Devan, Alex and Andrew–and one girl dog.

What do you enjoy doing with your free time?

Camping, going to the beach, watching my boys play soccer and volunteering.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

Flying.

If you could speak another language what would it be and why?

German because that’s my heritage.

If you could play one instrument you aren’t able to now, what would it be and why?

Guitar–I love the sound of it.

Would you rather live in the city or the woods?

The woods–living out in the country. I’m not a city girl at all!

What future event are you looking forward to?

For our 20th anniversary my husband and I are planning a trip to Europe.
