What do you enjoy doing with your free time?

My passion is working on my family Genealogy/History. I also enjoy hiking and traveling.

Can you share with us a story from your genealogy research?

My Maternal grandmother lost her brother to blood poising in 1928 when he was just 17. They lived in the small farming community of Algansee, Michigan. In 2014 someone found his funeral memory card at a yard sale and located me through Ancestry.com and sent the memory card to me to keep for my family.

Would you rather live in the city or the woods? Why?

I love cities and traveling to Cities, but I also like the woods and the out of Doors. It is my philosophy that understanding and accepting the challenges of city life helps one to respect the quiet of the woods and beaches.

Mrs. John. I’m old enough to had the misfortune of living in the day when Corporal punishment was legal. For me it was legal twice in the same day.

My move to this area in 2004 was due to the fact that my son had moved to Arcata, California; and was planning to move to Seattle. It was a move to have closer ties to Jake. Best move I ever made!!!

What was your most interesting past job?

Driving a cab in Tucson, Arizona.

What’s your favorite cab driver story?

I have told and retold this story…

I pick up a young man at a club on a Friday night. He was quite intoxicated. After making every attempt possible, and after an hour of him not being able to remember his address or give me any instructions on how to get him to his house, I informed him that he was costing me money and he would need to pay his fare and find his way home on his own.

The young man looked at me and very loudly protested with, “Oh great, blame me!”
