Jody Overby is a Special Education Teacher for the ESA working in the Dayton School District in Eastern Washington.
How long have you worked for ESD 112 and what does your job entail?
I have worked for the ESD for 5 years now. I am the Special Education Teacher for junior high and high school students at Dayton Middle/High School. I teach English, Math, Organization and Behavior skills.
What do you like best about your job?
That I do not have the same day twice.
What do you find most challenging about your job?
Getting all my paperwork done on time.
What do you consider to be your greatest on-the-job skill or asset?
I am a great communicator and I have great relationships with my students and staff that I work with.

Married, a daughter named Pailsee, she will be 2 in December, no pets
What do you enjoy doing with your free time?
I enjoy cooking, taking walks, going out with my family and friends, and shopping.

What is something that no one would guess about you if they just met you?
That I am loud!
Would you rather live in the city or the woods? Why?
Woods; you are away from people, and the views are amazing.
What teacher inspired you the most? How did they?
My third grade teacher Mrs. Klock. She was a great teacher and she is the reason I am a teacher today. We also keep in contact and see each other 2 times a year.
If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?
29 because I had a steady job, I was married and I could be under 30 forever!
What is the meaning/story behind your name?
I am named after my great, great grandpa. My name is a prominent man’s name in Europe when my grandma was growing up in Yugoslavia.
What was your most interesting past job?
Hostess at Wing Central’s Roadhouse Grill
