Thank you to everyone who donated jeans and peanut butter to benefit SHARE this fall. ESD employees brought in 60 pairs of jeans (and only 5 pairs weren’t new)––that’s about $900 worth of much-needed back to school clothing for local homeless kids and teens. We also donated a lot of peanut butter––102 pounds––WOW!
SHARE in particular is a very special cause for the ESD because it was a favorite charity of former ESD 112 Superintendent Bill Fromhold. In fact, the closest donation center is named Fromhold Service Center after Bill.
We shared what we were doing with this latest effort with Bill’s widow, Marcia, and got a very nice note back:
Please share my thanks with the ESD staff for this remembrance of Bill. Nothing would please him more than the ESD team pulling together on another project serving kids.
One of my fondest memories is of Bill in his jeans, a plaid shirt, and his ever-present boat shoes with no socks. Somehow, even in his casual clothes he seemed to have it all together. Every kid should have a pair of jeans to start school.
Still miss him every day and I’m so glad you are keeping his memory alive through your good works!
Thanks again for your generosity!
