Mark your calendars! An all-staff meeting has been scheduled for February 15 at 10:30 in the Conference and Institute Center!
It’s been a busy month for Tim and he’s close to completing over 40 individual visits with superintendents we serve in the ESD 112 region, ESA superintendents and also those we work with in our CSG program. He reports all visits have been extremely positive and he is consistently thanked for all the ESD staff does for them. KUDOS to hard-working, knowledgeable and talented ESD staff!
A major concern that he’s hearing about in the majority of the districts is the need for help with student behavior intervention programs. It’s a perfect fit for the ESD to assist in this area. We have the staff, the energy and the expertise to assist districts in improving school climates and the behavior of students. It’s hard work – but we do hard things! The Teaching and Learning department will be working on strategies and resources through collaboration of our early care and education, special education and school success staff and programs.
Donuts with the Director gatherings continue to be insightful and conversational. At this month’s meeting, about 15 staff members joined Tim and provided some great feedback on things they might do if they were superintendent for a day. Cabinet will spend some time discussing their responses. More to come!
Special thanks to our Early Care and Education staff who have had to deal with the measles outbreak while also gearing up to support Vancouver Public Schools early learning centers amid a potential strike (which fortunately was adverted in the 11th hour). Our ECE staff have created many contingency plans but have managed to keep the centers operating for children and families.
