Beginning on Wednesday, November 27, the ESD 112 Conference Center will be closed.

This impacts the following areas/events:

  • The main Conference Center entrance, the west entrance near the Klickitat room, and all interior entrances will be closed through January 8 (entrances will be temporarily opened on the afternoon of December 3 for holiday party and party setup).
  • The Conference Center will host the ESD 112 holiday party on Tuesday, December 3, however, attendees will not have access to the Conference Center restrooms because they will be under construction. Other ESD restrooms will need to be utilized during the holiday party.
  • The new mother’s area (formerly in the women’s restroom lounge) will relocate to the Adams Room.
  • One of the Conference Center renovation projects scheduled to occur after the holiday party, is the safe removal of asbestos which is contained in the glue of the tile underneath the carpet. While the asbestos is not a concern because it is contained, removal of the carpet could cause the glue (which contains the asbestos) to be disrupted or exposed. The HVAC system in the Conference Center will be off during the renovations and there is no risk of exposure to asbestos outside the closed area. ESD 112 is taking all safety precautions to ensure that the area which may be exposed to asbestos is closed to employees and the public during abatement.

ESD 112 Parking Closures:

  • On Wednesday, November 27, storage units will be delivered to the ESD 112 parking lot near the main Conference Center entrance. Parking in this area will be blocked off beginning on the evening of November 26 through January 8. This area will be used for storage and contractor parking only from November 26 through January 8.

Foode’ Café

  • The Foode’ Café will be closed during the Conference Center renovations.
  • Lunches may be ordered online by 10 a.m. on the day the order is needed and will be delivered to the front desk reception area by 12 noon.
  • The fountain drink machine, Pepsi vending machine and Foode “grab-and-go” food case will be removed and not available during the Conference Center renovations.
  • The snack vending machine currently in the Conference Center area will be relocated to the ESD 112 break room and maintained by Foode’ during Conference Center renovations.
  • A water bottle refill station/drinking fountain has been installed in the 2500 Building main office area and will replace the water fountain which is currently near the restrooms.

We understand that the renovation is disruptive and we truly appreciate your willingness to make temporary adjustments so that we can modernize our Conference Center to meet our needs for years to come. If you have any questions, please contact Jeff Strunk.
