On my 6 year old’s birthday, I took the day off to make her a fancy cake. She asked for a “Trolls World Tour King Trollex cake” (I realize that only parents of young children will know who that is), so I decided to go all-in with rainbow layers, fondant decorating, and candy and glow stick embellishments. I’ve done fondant decorating in the past, but it had been a while. I had forgotten how truly fun it is. It’s like playing with really forgiving, edible clay. It was a creative outlet for us to do together, and she loved the final results. I did too–it was almost too beautiful to eat!
