Congratulations to our 2022 nominees for the Spirit of ESD 112 Award! Even though we can only choose one main campus and one field staff winner, each of these nominees deserves recognition for going above and beyond with their work. These nominees had coworkers take the time to recognize them by submitting examples of how they truly are “the spirit of the ESD”. Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination. The seven nominees are…
Michelle Black, Secretary II/Intake Coordinator
Specialized Student Services
“Michelle talks frequently about how she loves the work she does and how she is so grateful to be able to be the first point of contact for families needing support. She comes in everyday ready to pour herself into her work and be the best starting point for children and families entering the ESIT program. Her warm demeanor and friendly tone help create a comfortable atmosphere for parents to ask questions and get their child screened even if they are feeling hesistant.”
Julie Jacobson, ECE Specialist II, 1-2-3 Grow & Learn
Early Care & Education
“Julie is a great example of what we strive to do here at ESD112. She goes above and beyond any chance she has to assist others, guide learning or support others in any possible way she can. Others feel cared for, invited and important in her presence. She brings joy everywhere she goes and truly is the sunshine of ESD112.”
Rachael Lafferty, Human Resources Coordinator
Human Resources & Insurance
“Rachael has gone above and beyond with answering my questions regarding benefits, online enrollment, and flexible spending account questions. She replies to emails within a very timely manner, almost immediately. She is consistently positive and adds to her emails something personal.”
Kendrick Lester, Asst. Director for Special Ed
Specialized Student Services
“While this has seemed like an ever challenging year, Kendrick has remained up beat, realistic, and positive that we will get through everything. His leadership has enabled us to continue to teach with positivity and hope when both felt in short supply. His actions have trickled down through us as a staff and into the students. Without a doubt, this year has felt more possible due to Kendrick’s optimistic outlook.”
Mayra Najera, Human Resources Coordinator
Human Resources & Insurance
“Mayra trained me for my current position and she was also currently learning a new job herself. She had such a patient attitude the whole time and did not let any pressure, or my endless questions get to her. She maintained a positive and encouraging attitude the whole time!”
School Nurse Corps
Specialized Student Services
“The last two years have brought a myriad of changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The kindness, perseverance and the consistently positive attitude that was put forth by the SNC staff has been impressive to say the least. The ever-changing guidelines proved to be very challenging, and yet, the district nurses worked extremely hard to lead their schools, students and community through it all.”
Whitson Elementary Special Education Team
Specialized Student Services
“I have worked with many special education teams, but this team stands out above all the rest! They support each other, are willing to step in to help at any time, and are flexible, positive, and fun.”
Congratulations to all of these nominees! We are lucky to have you on our team at ESD 112.
The two winners will be announced at the End of Year staff celebration tomorrow, June 24! We hope to see you there!
