Updates from Cabinet Cabinet members took some time away from the office to have a planning meeting on July 13. Jeffrey Niess, our new Executive Director of Specialized Student Services, shared his initial first impressions and his service philosophy. We also took a few moments to share with each other the accomplishments of our departments. As we listened to each person, you couldn't help but feel proud to be part of such a great ESD family. A few highlights: The ESD 112 Open Doors and Workforce programs have joined other community partners under one roof. Those ESD programs have moved to a new location with Partners in Careers and the Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council to provide students "one-stop" resources. An end-of-year message from Tim The ESD has always been an organization that “does hard things.” That means we respond with new and innovative programs when districts need help. That means we work hard to help districts solve problems and interpret complex state and federal initiatives, demands and requirements. We work hard to serve the most vulnerable students – from our youngest learners to our students with special needs to those impacted by adverse situations outside the classroom walls. This year, we are especially proud to assist local districts with the teacher shortage. With our district partners - Battle Ground, Castle Rock, Camas, Evergreen, Hockinson, Kalama, Kelso, La Center, Longview, Lyle, Ridgefield, Skamania, Vancouver, Washougal, White Salmon,  Woodland, and ESD 112 Specialized Student Services (Kalama, Wahkiakum, Naselle-Grays, Stevenson Carson, White Salmon), we have launched ESD-U, becoming the first non-college or [...]

The 411 on the 112 is an effort by ESD 112 Cabinet to keep employees informed about what’s being discussed in weekly cabinet meetings and happening around the agency.
