ESD 112’s own Daniel Ostrowski completed his third Spartan Race in Sacramento November 12. In order to become a member of the Spartan TRIFECTA Tribe, Daniel had to finish one of each Spartan distance: Sprint, Super and Beast, in a calendar year! Spartan races feature obstacles such as crawling under barbed wire, scaling 7 foot walls, carrying buckets of rocks up and down hills,or wading through water up to their chests. The three types of Spartan races are:
- Sprint: 3-5 miles, 20-23 obstacles
- Super: 8-10 miles, 24-29 obstacles
- Beast: 12-14 miles, 30-35 obstacles
Daniel has competed in races in Washougal and Seattle. He got involved in the Spartan Race when co-worker Richard Force told him about it. In fact, several ESD staff members have competed in the race in the past! Daniel is part of ESD 112’s awesome facilities team.
