We appreciate everyone’s input from the Be:Well Survey! We reviewed the current responses and are in the process of coordinating wellness activities, information, and resources based on your feedback and suggestions.
The first activity we’ll be hosting is a ‘Learn:Well’ webinar (the first of many more to come!) on the ESD 112 Employee Assistance Program (EAP) on November 30, 4:00-4:30pm. Refer to the Learn:Well section below for more details. The majority of survey responses indicated folks are interested in participating in activities that are virtual, can be reviewed independently, and can apply to areas outside of work – and we thought this topic covered all the bases!
Because Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and because mental wellness was selected by the most people as their top priority of the wellness categories, we focused on the theme of Mental Health & Gratitude for our November GoESD post – Think:Well, everyone!
Live:Well – Mental Health
We’ve already been using this term…but what is mental health, anyway? The US Department of Health & Human Services says that mental health, “…includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.”
This 5-minute video explains what mental health is, and the difference between mental health and mental illness.

Gratitude
Thanksgiving is a time when many reflect on what they are grateful for. There are so many benefits for your health (especially your mental health) that come from practicing gratitude. Below are some resources that share how you can practice gratitude in November – and all year round!
Start practicing gratitude today!
- Wellbeing Benefits – Learn about the benefits of practicing gratitude from Kaiser: Practicing Gratitude
- Meditation – practice gratitude through meditation. You can find gratitude meditations online, through YouTube or through many different fitness apps. Here is a free gratitude mediation through Headspace.
- Gratitude Journal – another way to practice gratitude is by creating a gratitude journal. Not sure where to start? Here are some prompts.

Did you know that ESD 112 has a free, confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP)? Canopy, our EAP, offers a variety of services to assist you and your family members, including:
