The ESD Safety Committee is offering ESD 112 employees a chance to learn about fire safety and fire extinguisher use.

Cowlitz Room

There are approximately 6,000 office fires in the United States each year. One of the most important responsibilities of everyone is the detection, response and prevention of fires. In the workplace, if the fire is small, staff can be trained in the proper and safe use of fire extinguishers.

This course of instruction is not designed to turn participants into firefighters, but rather equip them with the knowledge and skills to detect and extinguish a fire only when it is safe to do so. It is a combination of classroom learning and hands-on practical skills experience that will provide the student with confidence in using workplace extinguishers.

There is no charge for the class but we are limited to 25 participants. If you are interested obtain approval from your supervisor and respond to: safety.committee@esd112.org
