As part of your benefit package ESD 112 offers a Section 125 Flexible Spending Account (FSA), which can help you offset the increasing cost of medical and child care. All benefit eligible employees can enroll in this plan, even if they are not enrolled in the ESD medical/dental plans. You can even use it for dependents whether or not they are enrolled in our plans.
How it works: You direct a part of your pay, on a pre-tax basis, to a special account set up through Plus Point Services that can be used to reimburse yourself for Dependent Day Care expenses and/or Unreimbursed Medical expenses. Your Section 125 plan can save you money, since your contribution goes into your reimbursement account before taxes are withheld.
Reimbursement is easy!! Submit the appropriate claim paperwork to Plus Point Services and the reimbursement is either direct deposited to your bank account, or sent to your home. (Guess what, there’s even an App for that!) Reimbursable medical expenses include copays, prescription copays, dental care, and vision exams.
And remember, even if you were enrolled in the Flexible Spending plan in 2018, you will need to complete the enrollment form again for the 2019 year.
