ESD 112 employees have been proudly displaying their badges, colorful tokens symbolizing a specific ESD training that they completed. But if you walk by Alissa Jolly’s desk in Student and School Success, you might notice a badge on her wall that you’ve never seen before. Among her nine training badges is “One Badge to Rule Them All,” made especially for her after Katherine Livick walked by Alissa’s desk and noticed a sticky note hanging on her wall.

When one of Alissa’s badges fell off the wall and disappeared, her cubicle neighbors, knowing her competitive spirit, created the sticky note to replace it, which Katherine soon secretly replaced with an official one.

“I think the badges are a fun way to encourage people to attend more trainings,” says Alissa. “I know it worked for me!”
