Christine Navarrete is the Agency Front Desk Receptionist.
How long have you worked for ESD 112 and what does your job entail?
I have been ESD’s receptionist, phone operator, visitor checkerer-iner and mail sorter for 2 and a half months.
What do you like best about your job?
I absolutely adore all the wonderful, friendly, helpful, caring people who make up ESD.
What do you find most challenging about your job?
Learning everyone’s names and job titles! That is also one of the best things about my job.
Single? Married? Kids? Pets?
I have wonderful children, one tolerant cat and a couple of un-cuddly hermit crabs.
What do you enjoy doing with your free time?
I would live at Zumba and UJam class if given the chance. I love to dance. I also enjoy reading and cooking.
If you could live in a book, TV show or movie, what would it be?
I would live in the Outlander book series. Fantasy, history and Scotland all at the same time!
If you could time travel, would you go to the past or the future?
Definitely the past. History fascinates me.
Would you rather live in the city or the woods? Why?
BOTH! That’s why I love living in the PNW. City convenience, forest right at your back door, beach a short day trip away, and snowy mountains in the winter. Everything I need is right here.
What’s your favorite holiday and why?
Halloween is my very favorite. There is no familial obligation, you get to dress up to your preference, candy flows freely and children have a great time. It is an imagination holiday.
If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?
37
If you had been born the opposite gender, what would your parents have named you?
My siblings and I were all given names that could be used for boy or girl, since ultrasound gender identifying wasn’t as accurate or widely used as now. I would have been Christopher Michael if I had been a boy, instead of Christine Michelle.
How do you pronounce your last name?
Nah-vah-rrrrrrr-et-ay
When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
I go to the gym for Yoga or Zumba or UJam. If there isn’t a class happening then I literally do nothing, just breathe.
At what age did you become an adult?
I think I have always, and at the same time never, been an adult.
What’s the song you can’t resist singing along to?
Better When I’m Dancing– Meghan Trainor or Get Up Offa That Thing– James Brown
