dougAfter almost 15 years as Director of Construction Services Group (CSG), Doug Nichols is leaving ESD 112 in March, although he has committed to supporting CSG through the leadership transition beyond his departure, if needed. In a letter to his staff across the state he wrote: “I remain committed to the many projects you are all managing and am honored to have worked with you to build so many critical services for our school districts. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to CSG.”

Nichols applauded the entire CSG team for numerous accomplishments throughout the years. Among them:

  • Expansion of CSG’s geographic range to include the entire State of Washington, and some of Oregon and Idaho.
  • CSG’s Building Commissioning service has matured to be well-respected in the industry, through the efforts of Rick Alexander, Steve Nunez, Geert Aerts, and Caleb Aring.
  • Rick Alexander has refined and expended Constructability Services.
  • Carter Bagg has grown the Value Engineering practice and positioned it well for the future.
  • Susan Garthwaite has established a well-respected FF&E service that saves school districts significant amounts in procurement.
  • Jay Garthwaite has developed a robust set of Security and Technology services that will grow in the coming years.
  • Dax Logsdon has cemented CSG’s east side presence through effective marketing and project execution.
  • Tanya Boyer has established good business development materials and systems that will serve CSG and the next Director well.
  • Office support from Kelly McPherson and Pat Cunningham helped CSG staff keep their work on track.
  • Integration of CSG’s Facility Planning services with the Communications department to provide a full spectrum pre-bond planning services.

Thank you, Doug, for your leadership as ESD 112’s Director of CSG. You will be missed!
