One of our employees, Kelly Miller, a Paraeducator serving with our ESA in the Trout Lake Region, tragically suffered the loss of her home recently in a house fire. Luckily, she and her husband and their animals were able to get out safely, but unfortunately their home and most of their possessions were lost.
We know that the ESD community in the Trout Lake/ Glenwood region has rallied to help Kelly and her family, but many here locally have also asked how they can help. We have decided that we would host a “Gift Card Drive” so that they can purchase whatever supplies are most needed. Being that they are in a fairly rural community, the best options would be Costco, Fred Meyer, or Home Depot. For staff here in Vancouver, these cards are being collected by Daria Chick in the Specialized Student Services Department. Field donations can be sent to Trout Lake School, care of Dr. Benton Dorman. Donations will be collected through February 26th.
