Adam_NoarAdam Noar is a Secretary in the Student & School Success department.

How long have you worked for ESD 112 and what does your job entail?

I have worked at ESD 112 for around 1½ years. I am Kathy Whitlock’s secretary, working in Student & School Success. I also have a minor role in assisting Ted Feller in the SW WA Stem Network.

What do you like best about your job?

I very much enjoy working for/alongside my supervisors and coworkers. But I definitely don’t poo-poo the consistent 8-5 schedule and the close proximity to home.

What do you find most challenging about your job?

Sitting quasi-still for long periods.

Single? Married? Kids? Pets?

I am married to my beautiful wife of 3½ years, Rachel, who is just nuts about me. We currently have two pets: a stray cat that came with our house, and our 10 month old son. Unfortunately our house is a little small so we may have to put one up for adoption, and in all fairness the cat was there first.

What do you enjoy doing with your free time?

What’s “free time”?

What’s your favorite ESD memory?

One very nice memory was the first day I biked to work, offering the starkest contrast to when I had to commute from Vancouver to Beaverton for my last job (10/10 would not recommend).

At what age did you become an adult?

My Jewish upbringing would have you believe I became an adult when I had my Bar Mitzvah at the age of 13. They could not have been more wrong! I actually became an adult at 14.

What is the most interesting place you’ve ever lived?

I lived in Las Vegas for two semesters at UNLV. Unfortunately it wasn’t all that interesting, since I was under 21. Moving to Oregon despite never having been to Oregon was pretty exciting for me, though.

What was your most interesting past job?

I once worked as a Papa John’s delivery driver. Now I know there are some pretty salacious rumors regarding pizza delivery drivers, so I will just take this time to set the record straight. Yes, the rumors are true: We do occasionally get free pizza.
