ESD 112 offices will be closed for the holidays December 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and January 2. Our offices will reopen for regular business  on Tuesday, January 3.

This year we have made changes to the ESD 112 work calendar that are intended to give employees flexibility to work or take vacation between Christmas and New Year’s. Instead of closing and forcing employees to take leave, or staying open and forcing some employees to work, the ESD will be closed to the public between Christmas and New Year’s.

What days will the ESD be closed to the public?

The days between Christmas and New Year’s not scheduled as holidays: December 28, 29 and 30.

What does “closed to the public” mean?

  • The main office and conference center doors will be locked. Entry to the building will be through the doors that have key pads.
  • There will be no reception, switchboard coverage, or mail service.
  • Department coverage is not required, unless it is a program necessity.

How will I know if I am “required” to work those days?

Talk with your administrator or program manager to determine the coverage needs for your department or program. As with any request for vacation leave, you will need to have prior approval from your administrator or program manager to take the days off.

Can I use my vacation?

Employees must use vacation leave to cover the days.
