The state education budget has been the talk of the town

The state budget was released two weeks ago and it’s been a whirlwind making sense of how it will impact districts – both in the short and long term. There’s A LOT we don’t yet know, but click here for some general information about what we do know.

And speaking of the state budget…ESD Business staff will hold a Small Schools Summit

Gavin Hottman and his business management staff are holding a summit for small school districts on Wednesday, August 2. Numerous superintendents and business managers are asking for assistance interpreting the budget’s impact on their districts, since the small school district funding appears to be significantly more complicated and could result in some challenges.

Two ESD programs selected for AESA Conference presentations

Congratulations to STEM Director Vickei Hrdina and Quest Director Sara Paul who were selected to present at the national Association of Educational Service Agencies (AESA) conference in San Antonio, Texas in December. Vickei will share the region’s STEM program success and Sara will present highlights from ESD 112’s Quest Academy, a therapeutic day treatment center located in Cowlitz County.

Annual Cabinet planning meeting set for August 4

Cabinet members and Executive Directors will be meeting at Vancouver’s Artillery Barracks on August 4 for a full day of planning and discussion from ESD past, present and future. On the agenda:
