ESD turns parking lot into science lab for the eclipse

Using a model, Vickei tapped Tim to help demonstrate the mechanics of an eclipse.

Nearly 100 ESD staff watched the epic solar eclipse together on August 21 while munching on Sun Chips. The back parking lot was transformed into a science lab of sorts where STEM Director Vickei Hrdina and staff collected data throughout the 2 hour+ event. Using special measurement tools, she and Curriculum Specialist Pranjali Upadhyay recorded their findings on a large whiteboard for staff to see the interesting phenomena created by the eclipse, including changes in wind and temperature and light.
