Staff Luncheon: 12–2pm

  • Bring your own brown bag lunch to enjoy while watching the costume contest OR bring a dish to share at the potluck.
  • Sweet treats, healthy snacks, and tasty entrees and appetizers are all welcome at the potluck!
  • New this year: Groups are invited to decorate their team’s table with their costume theme. Table decorating will be open from 11-12.

Staff Costume Contest during Luncheon

The same three categories will be judged again this year:

  1. Group Performance Category (a song, skit, etc with a max. time of 5 minutes)
  2. Group Costume-Only Category (no music or acting allowed; group stands at the front and announces their costume)
  3. Solo Costume Category (30 second time limit; one person; anything goes)

The group contest winners will enjoy a pizza party with Superintendent Tim Merlino, and the solo winner will get a gift card!

Video Submissions

Do you work out of the office or out in district? Will you be gone for Hootenanny? We invite you to submit a video of your submission instead! We will play your video at the live event to be judged with the live submissions. We will also record any live skits at Hootenanny, so you can see them afterward. Please adhere to the time limit given for each category.

NOTE: Only ESD staff are allowed to enter the contest. As cute as your dog or kid may be dressed up, video submissions that are not of ESD staff costumes will be disqualified from the contest.

Trick or Treating: 3–4:30pm

ESD staff with children in their lives are invited to bring them to trick or treat in the main offices at stations decorated by staff. We will also provide non-food treats for kids with allergies or other restrictions. A map will be provided to guide families to the stations.

NOTE: If you plan to decorate your cubicle or trick or treat station, please follow these guidelines from the Safety Committee.

Please RSVP your participation by October 24, 2023!

Individuals: Fill out this form to let us know how you will be participating in the day (whether attending the luncheon, submitting a video, or trick or treating). If you are unable to participate in any way, no need to RSVP.

Groups: We will be reaching out to Administrative Assistants for group costume entries and trick or trick station info. Please inform your department’s Administrative Assistant of your group’s plans.
