Last Spring, the Green Team initiated a mural project as a way to spruce up the staff courtyard and add life to the campus. They asked the Spero students if they would like to get involved in the project and they happily agreed. Over the summer, Jeffrey Niess, Executive Director of Specialized Student Services, volunteered a weekend to pressure wash the wall and give the Spero students a clean canvas.

Jessica Douglass, Outreach Coordinator, and Spero students started working on the design concept last spring and landed on the idea of Mt. Rainer in the springtime. After school began in the fall, the students got started on their masterpiece.

Students worked together over the course of a few weeks to tape off, draw out and paint the scene.
